MY MAKEUP BAG
On the 1 October 2015 a report released by the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), an organisation representing obstetrical and gynaecological associations from 125 countries, has raised concern about the increase in miscarriages, stillbirths, and cancer linked to pesticides, air pollutants, plastics, and other chemicals.
Exposure to toxic environmental chemicals during pregnancy and breastfeeding is ubiquitous and is a threat to healthy human reproduction, the report states. Untested, unsafe chemicals and the way they interact together as a cocktail on our skin has not been sufficiently researched and the price we are paying in terms of our reproductive health is of serious concern.
As women, we deserve better than this. We should be choosing makeup that doesn't contain bisphenol A (BPA), ethanolamines. parabens, phthalates or heavy metals. Start detoxifying your makeup bag.
