Raw CBDa Cannabis Elixir

This raw, full-spectrum cannabinoid elixir is extracted using alcohol, honey and a small amount of vegetable glycerine to preserve the beneficial effects of the plant. CBDa (cannabidiolic acid) comes from the fresh cannabis plant and is believed to have a higher bioavailability than CBD allowing more rapid results. CBDa is the precursor of CBD. Similarly, THCa (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) comes from the raw cannabis plant and is a non-intoxicating precursor to THC. Research suggests that consistent use of cannabinoids promotes the overall effectiveness of the endocannabinoid system which is key to maintaining overall homeostatic balance in the body and stress response network. Store in a cool dark place out of direct sunlight.

All plants used in this formulation are grown on The Oaklands farm and extracted without the use of chemicals. Growing methods are inspired by the principals of permaculture and Korean natural farming, honouring biodiversity and the beneficial elements of the natural environment to enhance the medicinal values of the plants.

In 2019, the legal status of cannabis-derived medicine changed. South Africa officially issued a 12-month exception on all products containing CBD with no schedule. The exemption came with two caveats – the maximum daily dose must be 20mg or less and the product can’t claim to cure or treat any specific condition. After the exemption has expired, products’ containing CBD will be deemed schedule four, which means they can be bought with a prescription and are not habit-

Choosing your product

Take care when reading labels to see whether it says the total amount of cannabinoids or a specific amount of CBD – the ‘cannabinoids’ listed could contain other related compounds such as fatty acids and while these aren’t unhealthy, you want to be sure you’re getting the right amount of CBD.

To be sure you’re getting the very best benefits from this much-lauded and miraculous product, choose a reputable brand, which adheres to the following:

  1. Batch no.’s for all their products.
  2. Certificates of Analysis that link to batch no.
  3. Organic source of material.
  4. No medical claims whatsoever.
  5. Full spectrum plant extract and not an isolate – if it does not say full spectrum, then it’s an isolate. Full-spectrum is up to 30 times more effective.
  6. Consistency of standardisation of product.
