Reset Diet


Reset Diet is a convenient way to ease into a fasting state. The diet comes delivered as a pre-packaged 5-day diet. The diet is whole-food and plant-based.

Reset Diet reduces caloric intake from Day 1. The steady dropping of calories will produce a fasted state in the body, even though you will still be feeding. The diet provides the positives of a fasted state, without the absolute adverse effects of a water-only fast. The science behind the diet (and fasting) is rock solid, and much was by the likes of Prof Valter Lungo and Dr. Jason Fung.

When the body moves into a fasted state, it is shocked into a protective mode. The protective mode produces autophagy. Autophagy means “self-eating”. The body will begin to “eat” the damaged parts of the body, removing damaged proteins and cells. Autophagy opens the opportunity for self-repair. Research suggests that this process may result in increased longevity and improved health and wellness.

The diet provides the body with the necessary macro and micronutrients to keep you nourished, even while fasting. The nutrients will be delivered through bars, soups, snacks, and supplement tablets.

What is inside the box?

Six smaller boxes; Each box is marked START, and then Day 1 to 5.

The START Box will include the Reset Diet Programme instructions and also the supplement tablets.

The food for each day is contained in each numbered box. Only eat the food in the box on each day, and follow each consecutive day with the next, not skipping a day. Also, no other food may be consumed, although meals in the same box can be swopped around.

In the LARGE box, you will find a green bottle. This water bottle is for mixing your Swig-it drink.  Please see the HOW TO MAKE THE SWIG-IT DRINK section for more instructions.  When you have drunk the Swig-it drink, you can use the bottle as a water bottle or enjoy your instant tea sachet, if not used to flavour your Swig-it drink. It is essential to keep hydrated throughout a fast.

How to make the swig-it drink?

The small bottle in the boxes from day 2 to 4 contains the mix for the Swig-it drink.

Please see the side of the bottle for the markings with your weight.

Squeeze out the amount that correlates with your weight into the green water bottle you received in the large box. Discard the unused amount left in the little Swig-it.  If you want to flavour the drink, you can add the afternoon Rooibos and Apple Instant tea sachet now and shake the bottle to dissolve. Then fill up the rest of the green bottle with water. 

The drink will provide you with extra calories throughout the day. You can drink at your leisure. Try and sip throughout the day, but there are no rules here.

You can drink as much water and Rooibos/caffeine and calorie-free herbal tea as you wish, without milk and sugar. You will be provided with at least one tea bag per day with the instant tea option for a hot or cold alternative that can be enjoyed on its own or in the swig-it drink described.

You can consume caffeine, but please try and move to a lower level than your normal amount, preferably not more than 2-3 black coffees. No milk or sugar allowed.

Transition diet

The diet finishes on the morning of Day 6.

Your system will be reset. Please do not enter into your “normal” dietary pattern straight away since this can cause gastrointestinal discomfort.

You should ease into your daily diet on day 6. A diet based on 60-70% vegetables and add one or two fruits. Try and add grains or pasta as per your normal diet on the evening of day 6. If this is in your normal diet, a light meal with fish / white meat can be consumed in the evening of Day 6.

From day 7, you can start building up to your normal diet.

As a weight-loss approach, you can remain in the ketosis metabolic state by keeping your carbohydrate intake very low. We recommend that you can stay in ketosis for up to 21 days without a negative effect on lean body mass. You will need to continue exercise after the fasting week to maintain your lean body mass. You can take a one-week break on a maintenance/normal calorie diet and repeat the 21-day process for optimal weight loss starting with another fasting box. 

If weight loss is not your goal, you can repeat the Reset Diet for the longevity and renewal process 2-4 times per year.
